Why a book relating sales success to gardening? Because we believe that there is more than one way to look at the challenge of getting the most out of your sales career. Our book offers a new way of looking at sales that you're not likely to have encountered. In our experience, sales professionals don't always acknowledge that pressure. Or if they do, they internalize it. That's a big mistake. While most salespeople are well schooled in the nuts and bolts of the selling process, the feeling that there seems to be something missing can cause a loss of optimism and premature burnout. That's where SPROUT! comes in handy. We have found that using a metaphor we call the Sales Garden and its accompanying mind-set can help relieve some harmful stress and put more fun and passion into the selling process. By absorbing our simple Sales Garden concept and following the user-friendly steps outlined in this book, salespeople can beat the career blues and sustain themselves for the long term, regaining their passion for sales in the process. But that's not all. Our simple formula also enables organizations to better retain precious talent by applying a philosophy that supports their sales professionals throughout the inevitable ups and downs that mark a selling career - and that creates a healthy sales framework as well. All this from seeds sowed in our Sales Garden. ---- Preface

Sprout is what I consider an educational interactive book with a moral that everything created is important no matter how big or small. It begins with a blade of grass, Sprout, learning all the jobs of the things in his backyard, including trees, vegetables, and a honey bee, among others. Through Sprout's adventure, he learns of his own importance. The book has not only science facts but also nutrition facts as well. I believe it would make a positive impact on children of any age. There is a section for drawing or writing the reader's own important jobs and a hidden image in each illustration to keep them involved. I have also included a glossary that Merriam-Webster was so kind to give me permission to use. For the younger readers, the moral will be evident. Although some of the words used may be ones they are not used to hearing, it will provide an introduction to new vocabulary. For the older reader, it has great learning opportunities as well as a moral they can identify with. I hope this book will help children with their confidence, self-worth, and education. Happy learning!

Violet runs the fastest, sings the highest, looks the fanciest, and talks the loudest. Everyone agrees that she's the best. Except Rosie. Rosie isn't fast, or loud, or fancy, but she's tired of hearing that Violet is the best. When their class grows pea plants, Rosie's and Violet's are the first to sprout! But Violet's is a little taller. So Rosie pushes some soil over Violet's sprout to slow it down. And for a moment, Rosie's plant is the best—but she feels terrible. And she feels even worse when she learns that Violet has the chicken pox. So for the next two weeks, Rosie waters her plant—and Violet's too. She turns them in the sun, and sings them quiet growing songs. And her teacher says that Rosie is the best gardener she's ever had. Definitely the best. This empathetic story captures every child's desire to be noticed and praised, and the subtle competitions that go on in a classroom. It's a book to swell every shy child's heart.
